Warning to residents

On Friday 2nd September & Saturday 3rd September  attempted house burglaries took place in FEIASHILL ROAD, TRYSULL

In the first incident on the 2nd Sept. there were no witnesses.  In the second incident on the 3rd Sept. the intruder was disturbed and ran away.  He is described as WHITE MALE IN HIS 20’s – CREW CUT HAIR – WEARING BLACK/RED/WHITE TRACKSUIT TOP.

A small dark coloured car was seen speeding away towards Crockington Lane.  Also seen was a BLUE COLOURED SAXO CAR being driven erratically.  There were 3 occupants and the driver was described as BLONDE FEMALE.

Warning to residents

Police and Trading Standards are warning about a scam relating to:-

U CASH VOUCHERS 

Residents are receiving cold calls from individuals stating that they are from a UK Council, Bank or similar.   They say you are entitled to a tax or bank charge refund and ask you to go to a local shop to purchase u cash vouchers in order to access the money.  They ask you to quote the voucher code.

Councils and banks do not contact customers or residents about refunds.  Do not act on these calls or quote any codes by phone or email.

Warning to residents

During the morning of Tuesday 14th June  in Feiashill Road, Trysull an intruder sneaked into a house through an unlocked gate and rear door whilst the resident was in the garden.  A wallet and mobile phone were stolen.

Between Saturday 11th and Tuesday 14th June metal fencing was stolen from the perimeter of grounds in the Mile Flat area.

Tuesday 14th June someone who was spotted trying to steal coping stones in the Himley area has been arrested.

Warning to residents

On Thursday 21st April 2011 at approx 3.30 a.m.    in    Fox Road, Seisdon

A resident disturbed an intruder who had entered through an open window.  The intruder got away with small items he could carry.

The intruder is described as:-  Slim built male,  wearing black clothing and white coloured hoodie.

Bogus caller warning, Wombourne and surrounding area
 

This is a warning to residents regarding a suspicious incident which may have been an attempt bogus caller.

Between 9.30am and 10.15am on Thursday 23rd December, a man has gone to an elderly resident's house in Lamb Crescent, Wombourne, purporting to be a gas man. The elderly resident did not let the man into the house and he made off in a white coloured van. The man is described as aged in his 20s wearing a woolly hat.

Bogus callers travel some distance to commit crimes and often attempt several crimes in one day. Please warn your neighbours, particularly elderly or vulnerable neighbours, to be on their guard and not to answer the door to strangers or let anyone into their home. Any caller should have a pre-arranged appointment and even then, their identity should be carefully checked before they are allowed in. Warning to residents of Trysull and Seisdon

During the last few days (between Tuesday 9th & Thursday 11th October’10)  two incidents of criminal damage have been reported:-

1)     Post Office Road, Seisdon.  -  Leaves pushed into small post box on a wall and set alight

2)     School Road, Trysull             -  Wooden gates to a car park pushed over

People are being contacted and asked to register with a TELEPHONE PREFERENCING SERVICE to stop cold calling.

This is a SCAM  - they say it costs £20 and ask for bank/credit card details which you should not give.

Staffordshire Police have information that security and alarm companies are targeting this area.  They are phoning residents to try to make appointments to visit them in their homes.  The police advise residents not to respond to their requests as they offer inappropriate systems and use heavy handed tactics.  If you require advice on security please phone reputable companies and get quotes from them.  Do not buy any security systems over the phone or at the door.

Beware of bogus telephone calls purporting to be from Works & Pensions Dept. saying people are entitled to additional winter fuel payments.  They are asking for bank details but Works & Pensions Dept. say they would never ask for this sort of information under these circumstances.   Do not give any details to callers.  If you have already done so please inform your bank immediately.

On Monday 7th December’09 a suspicious incident occurred in RAVENHILL DRIVE, CODSALL. 

2 White females called at a house claiming to be checking telephone land lines stating that the occupier should have received either a yellow or pink letter.  The householder became suspicious and asked for identification.  They had no identification and left the scene.  They are described as follows:-

One had long hair the other was plumper with darker hair and they both spoke with a local accent.

WHITE FORD TRANSIT VAN - REG NO: W604 RDF  Driven by a white male aged approx 38 – 40  with short, white blonde to ginger hair.  He had a partner but there is no description.  Last seen in Clee View Road on Saturday 28th November’09 offering to clean guttering and facia boards. 

If you see these men or are approached by them you are advised not to answer your door or speak to them.

A warning about a person purporting to be from BT.   He is telling people that they have not paid their bill and the line will be disconnected immediately if they do not pay by credit card.  He demonstrates this by using the mute button on the phone which is a scam.  If you are contacted do not give any credit card details, hang up the phone and contact Staffordshire Trading Standards on 01785 277 888 to report the incident.

Date of offence: TUESDAY 15th APRIL 2008

Location:        Property in ENVILLE ROAD, KINVER

Offence:        Two men claiming to be from the ‘WATER BOARD’ entered the property via front and back entrances.  One engaged the owner in conversation while the other entered the bedrooms and stole cash. 

They also stole:        GREEN VOLVO CAR      Registration number:              T719 LGP

Description:               1 white male approx 20-25 years old, short mousy hair, round face

                                    Wearing navy blue top with silver logo and jeans.

                    1 white male – no description except for being young and wearing a cap.

In the early hours of SUNDAY MORNING – 27TH MAY  a SMALL RED CAR was seen in FEIASHILL CLOSE in what could be described as suspicious circumstances.  The occupants are believed to be white males.

 Residents are advised to be vigilant.
